Alpha males are not a different species, nor do they have superpowers, yet lesser men are often cowed in their presence. Men and women alike can be intimidated by them, but this is not always the case. Of course there are those who are blowhards and consider themselves above everyone else, but most of these cases are not alpha males at all, but men with a chip on their shoulder who feel they have to bluster and bully their way through life and would really like to know how to be an alpha male.
Alphas really are just those with confidence and self belief you know how to handle themselves in any situation and are generally the decision-makers and ‘movers and shakers’ of the world. A lot of women are attracted to alpha males, but not all women; some prefer the quiet reserved type and others like a man they can mother.
